Carmelo de las Morenas – en
Managing partner of Emmergia since 2004. More than 20 years experience in the area of mergers and acquisitions, developed in Spain, United Kingdom and United States. He previously worked at Lehman Brothers (NY and London), The Boston Consulting Group (Madrid) and ICEX (Washington commercial office). During his career he has worked in numerous M&A mandates in different industries, with a concentration in the healthcare and biotechnology sectors. Some of the clients with whom Carmelo has worked in the healthcare space include Teva Pharmaceuticals, Neoprobe, Interventional Technologies, King Pharma, Genosa or Phytogen.
Carmelo is currently a board member of: biotech company Genosa, auxiliary construction company Estructuras Burton and investment company Key Capital.
He is also a professor of corporate finance at the Centro de Estudios Garrigues and the Economists Association of Madrid. He speaks English and German fluently.
Carmelo holds a degree in Business Administration from ICADE (’92) and an MBA from Columbia Business School (’97)
Eduardo González-Gallarza – en
Managing partner of Emmergia since 2003. More than 20 years of experience in various positions within the financial sector: origination of fixed income operations in BANESTO, market analysis in SAFEI (construction sector) and in CREDIT LYONNAIS SECURITIES (small caps) and Private Equity in INVERALIA. He has participated in M&A transactions in the most diverse sectors like: FOOD, CASUAL DINING, INDUSTRIAL and SERVICES.
He has been a teacher of Valuation and Acquisition of companies in CEDEU (Madrid).
Brent Peterson – en
Brent Peterson is an Associate with CDI Global North America in the Boca Raton office.
Brent has over 30 years of experience in the securities and investment banking industry. Most recently as the founder and President of Glenwood Financial Corp. Glenwood which was started in 1994 to provide public and private companies with merger and acquisition consulting services, additionally, Glenwood has helped its publicly owned clients establish and/or improve their investor and shareholder relations programs. Since establishing Glenwood, Mr. Peterson has been instrumental in the successful mergers of numerous companies in the healthcare and medical fields. Prior to founding Glenwood, Mr. Peterson was a senior advisor with Health Management, Inc. (HMI) a publicly held company involved in the HMO management and assisted living Industries. His responsibilities at HMI included overseeing all aspects relating to the public ownership of the company, i.e., filing SEC reports, dealing with the accountants, attorneys, shareholders, brokerage community, and transfer agents.
Prior to his association with HMI he worked for ten years as a Securities Principal with several brokerage firms managing trading departments and underwriting IPOs and Private Placements for small and medium sized companies.
Marc de Clerck – en
Marc specialises in Healthcare, Equipment, Software, Services and IT domains.
Marc holds masters degrees in Applied Sciences in electronics and biomedical from University Louvain.
He also received a post graduate in Economics from University Antwerp Management School and Corporate Finance and M&A from INSEAD, France. His language skills include Dutch, English, French and German.
Prior to joining CDI Global, Marc, was during 8 years, Head of Global Corporate and Business Development activities of Agfa HealthCare.
He managed and closed more than 25 M&A deals up to integration, ranging from € 3 to 350 mio, including investments and carve outs. Previously he was Business Unit Manager in IT, software, equipment and consumables domain. He started his career, in Pharma segment, in the R&D department of Johnson & Johnson, Belgium. Marc was also Board Member in high tech companies in USA and Europe. He acquired specific insights in among others, Radiology, Cardiology, Orthopaedics, Oncology, Diagnostics, Medical Devices, Data Management and Hospital IT. Based on his 25 years industry and corporate experience, he has hands on knowledge of operations and the real impact of an M&A project on business, management and shareholders.
Apart from company search and M&A, his experience includes strategic planning, business development and transformation management.
Olivier Chantre – en
Olivier holds an MBA from the International Institute for Management Development, IMD.
Before joining CDI Global in 2011, Olivier spent over ten years first as a partner in a US$ 300 million mid-market private equity fund and then as a partner in an M&A advisory firm, both based in Switzerland. Previously and up until 1999, he served for over 20 years as a member of management of UBS in Switzerland, but also in the US, with a focus on corporate clients. Olivier has led numerous M&A projects, especially in the industrial, consumer goods, services and healthcare sectors.
