Carmelo de las Morenas
Managing partner of CDI Global Iberia since 2004. More than 20 years experience in the area of mergers and acquisitions, developed in Spain, United Kingdom and United States. He previously worked at Lehman Brothers (NY and London), The Boston Consulting Group (Madrid) and ICEX (Washington commercial office). During his career he has worked in numerous M&A mandates in different industries, with a concentration in the healthcare and biotechnology sectors. Some of the clients with whom Carmelo has worked in the healthcare space include Teva Pharmaceuticals, Neoprobe, Interventional Technologies, King Pharma, Genosa or Phytogen.
Carmelo is currently a board member of: biotech company Genosa, auxiliary construction company Estructuras Burton and investment company Key Capital.
He is also a professor of corporate finance at the Centro de Estudios Garrigues and the Economists Association of Madrid. He speaks English and German fluently.
Carmelo holds a degree in Business Administration from ICADE (’92) and an MBA from Columbia Business School (’97)

José María Varas García

More than 30 years of experience in different Financial and Management roles for companies in the cardboard and paper, hotel, Oil & Gas, financial sectors. CFO for Venepal (Latam), Managing Partner for Hoteles Cumberland (Venezuela), M&A and Expansion Manager for Tropigas (Venezuela) executing + 50 M&A transactions, CEO for Tropigas, Founder and Managing Partner for VR Corporate Spain since 2003. Speaks fluent Spanish and English.
Jose Maria has participated in M&A transactions in the Automobile, Pharma, Cosmetics, Packaging, Industrial, Food sectors, and in IPO processes for Latam companies in the NYSE.

Brent Peterson is an Associate of CDI Global North America in the Boca Ratón office.
Brent has more than 30 years of experience in investment banking. In 1994 he founded Glenwood Financial Corp. to provide M&A consulting services to public quoted companies and private companies. Mr. Peterson has been instrumental in the success of numerous mergers in the health and medical sector. Prior to founding Glenwood, Mr. Peterson was a senior advisor to Health Management, Inc. (HMI), a public quoted company that participates in HMO management and in the assisted living industries. His responsibilities at HMI included the supervision of all aspects related to public ownership of the company.
Previously, he worked for ten years as director of several securities agencies.
David López is an experienced advisor to the health industry. He has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions and strategic corporate development activities, especially for the subsectors of the health sector: hospitals, healthcare IT and medical device companies.
David has also owned and sold a medical diagnostic company, which has allowed him to know the process of M&A as a client.
He holds a degree in Economics from York University in Toronto.
Marc de Clerck
Marc is the leader of CDI Global for the health sector in Europe.
Before joining CDI Global, he was, for 8 years, responsible for business development at Agfa HealthCare. Previously, he was manager of the IT business unit, software, equipment and consumables.
He has closed more than 25 M&A operations, for amounts ranging from € 3 to € 350 million.
He began his career in the pharmaceutical sector in the R&D department of Johnson & Johnson, Belgium. Marc has also been a board member in high tech companies in the United States and Europe. Marc’s specialties include radiology, cardiology, orthopedics, oncology, diagnosis, medical devices, data management and IT in hospitals.
Marc has a master’s degree in applied sciences in electronics and biomedics from the University of Leuven, with a postgraduate degree in economics from the University Antwerp Management School and Corporate Finance, and an MBA from INSEAD (France). He speaks Dutch, English, French and German.

Olivier holds an MBA from the International Institute for Management Development, IMD.
Before joining CDI Global in 2011, Olivier spent over ten years first as a partner in a US$ 300 million mid-market private equity fund and then as a partner in an M&A advisory firm, both based in Switzerland. Previously and up until 1999, he served for over 20 years as a member of management of UBS in Switzerland, but also in the US, with a focus on corporate clients. Olivier has led numerous M&A projects, especially in the industrial, consumer goods, services and healthcare sectors.
